Why is First Aid important? Statistics show that few people are confident in performing emergency first aid. A study by Manchester University* identified that up to 59% of pre-hospital deaths were potentially preventable with better first aid intervention, and when there was an opportunity to treat a patient first aid was performed only around 50% of the time. If a defibrillator is used and effective and CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, a person’s chance of survival increases from 6% to 74%!
Who is it for? Our Emergency First Aid at Work training course will equip anyone with the skills and confidence to handle emergency medical situations, providing the right treatment, fast, in those sometimes crucial first minutes.
It’s also a legal requirement for any business with 5 or more employees to have a dedicated first aider in the team, as well as the equipment and facilities to deliver emergency first aid.
How does it work? We offer fully regulated first aid courses through Nuco Training, the UK’s largest independent provider of first aid training. We deliver open courses from our new training centre in Taunton (book online on this site), or we can arrange to come to your place of work to deliver courses (please contact us)**. Courses can often be tailored to be relevant to you – the industry you work in, job roles, number of staff.
Using latest resuscitation council guidelines, NHS, NICE and HSE guidelines we are continually adjusting our courses to fit changes and improvements to first aid practice.
